Counseling Intern + Somatic Coach
Jordan Majdalani
He/Him
Jordan is a counseling intern at Grand View University working toward his master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. He also holds a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and brings over a decade of experience supporting individuals with communication, personal growth, and emotional regulation.
Jordan’s approach is rooted in nervous system awareness and somatic approaches to therapy.
He is currently completing Brain Spotting and Advanced Level training in Somatic Experiencing®, a body-based approach that helps people understand and regulate their nervous system to process stress and trauma. Jordan aims to create a supportive space where clients can slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and heal with curiosity rather than judgment. His approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and culturally responsive, honoring each person’s identity, lived experience, and unique path forward.

Alternative Experience
Before beginning his counseling training, Jordan spent over a decade working as a speech-language pathologist with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and ages. He has supported individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries and head and neck cancer, worked in international education supporting students and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and provided gender-affirming voice services for transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals. He has also coached communication and public speaking for professionals and corporate leaders. Through his professional journey, Jordan became increasingly interested in the emotional and relational aspects of communication, which ultimately led him to pursue counseling and somatic therapy. Alongside his clinical work, he has studied mind–body practices including breathwork, yoga, and Ayurveda. He now teaches nervous system regulation and breathwork through workshops and retreats, and is bilingual in English and Portuguese.
